well my buddy was saying that if your doing your clutch anyways, spend the $350 on a new aluminum flywheel, they are 7-10 pounds lighter and the weight taking right off your crank makes a noticable difference.

figured i would see how other people feel about the same issue.

No, you want weight on the flywheel, otherwise revs drop too quickly, they also raise quicker but unless your Auto-X the car where the revs really never drop as much you want that HD steel flywheel. Also since Aluminum expands and contracts like a mother and prone to warping its best to stick with the heavier steel.

Some people have the miss conception that light is ALWAYS better, the flywheel is one of the cases that disproves the rule. I have driven with a aluminum flywheel on the street, it was god awfully annoying.

Spec sells a decent steel flywheel at a less price, win, win. IMO

Findanza aluminum flywheels are 14 lbs. Stock is 33 lbs. You can buy a steel billet 23 lb flywheel from AMS racing on Ebay for $115. They work great. I've owned stock , alumuminum and the steel 23 pounder and find the 23 lb billet one the best.

I say no. Maybe a little lighter, but not THAT light.

Yea I think I have heard that for your clutch and flywheel assembly you want around 10lbs per 1000lbs of car. But I can't remember
