I've read through this thread a couple of times and the only thing I would want to add is the importance of using the aforementioned clutch hydraulic line tool (for the LSx slave).

While doing the drill modification I fiddled with the connector with screw drivers for about twenty minutes. I couldn't get lucky with them so after a trip to the autoparts store and buying the removal tool for just a few dollars, I had the line disconnected in one minute. I would add that to the list of necessary tools.

Trying to reinstall the back half of the transmission onto the bell housing right now, after installing a remote clutch bleeder. For some reason the dowel pins are not lining up. If I line up a dowel pin on one side, the other will be offset by a quarter of an inch, and vice versa. Any ideas?

I took an old 18MM boxed end wrench, cut a slot in it big enough to slide over the hose and BAM popped it right out!!!!

It was worth it in my opinion to do the work myself, and next time I'm sure it will go smoother!
About how long did it take you? eventually i wanna put a clutch in mine so im curious.. and do i have to have a lift to do it? or is it possible just on jacks?

Yea it's definitely possible. I just replaced my clutch a couple weeks ago with just jackstands. Just make sure you get it decently high, I barely had enough room to get the trans to slide out from under my exhaust. As far as time, me and my buddy were complete noobs and it took us two seperate days to finish. Probably a total of 10 hours of work. Getting that damn bell housing loose and bleeding the hydraulics took FOREVER lol

When I did mine at the auto hobby shop on base it took 8 hours with help. That is a clutch R&R with drill mod.

You don't "have to". I didn't. 2 weeks later I'm doing it now though. Big ****** mistake

Also, DO NOT get the black slave that comes from the cheap parts stores. Lucky to get a year out of it. Get the oem part that has the natural aluminum color and AP stamped on it. I found it at NAPA for the same price as the junk one. $75. $140 at dealer. Tick performance also has it.

What is this drill mod?

It's basically when you drill a bigger hole in your Master Cylinder so more fluid flows to the slave and disengages the clutch. Essentially the cheap alternative to getting the Tick MC. Walk through here:
