Face plating removes the synchros inside the transmission. Average cost is $2295 once you do the viper output shaft and CAN NOT BE DRIVEN ON THE STREET. We only sell them to guys that understand if you drive it on the street you have to tear into it every 100 passes or so depending on what you are doing with it. They also must be shifted hard and not easy.

The only business that I know that actually does the face plating is Liberty Gear . The last stuff they did for me took forever to get done and lots of excuses of why it took so long . Its not fun doing business like that at all ........

That is why they sell me the rings and slider and send customers to me that can't wait like Taner. Since I have a full service machine shop I have the ability to do that. We have about 40 under our belt with only 1 broken to date and I contribute that to the clutch issue he had. Ours has lasted on average of 80 passes.

I didn't know they would sell the parts seperately . That definately makes things go smoother as long as you have someone qualified to do the work . I do so little of it , I don't really worry about . I prefer to do the syncronized stuff anyday .

I have one. Had it done at libertys a couple of years ago. I think I was one of the first ones to get one besides the race vipers. Thats what they told me anyways. I didnt have it out last year at all (devorce) but I took it on power tour this year, 3000 miles plus this year. No problems, just have to know how to shift it. I ran my best of 11.29 just last week. I do have about 40-50 passes on it this year plus the street miles. I have over 500 rwhp and do 6-6500 dumps with a mcleod twin disk.
I have broke 2nd gear in a D&D rebuilt t56 and I also broke 4th in a cryoed t56 that was in one of ronnie dukes cars. I am not easy on my stuff at all, and this has held up. I have just over 28k on the car and this is the 6th trans, and 6th clutch thats been in the car, two of the t56's wer done because of sycro issues the rest because of brakage. Same with the clutchs. The only other one that held up was a cartek and it finally started to slip in 4th, thats when I switched to the mcleod.
