I had Joe look at it and he says something is going on with your clutch/driving. I will call you sometime after lunch tomorrow. Are you using the clutch to shift the faceplated trans? You have to ALWAYS use the clutch when shifting a fp trans as it put more stress on the rings/sliders and input shaft. That is what it looks like to us on these pics. The only way you can not use the clutch is with a slipper clutch.

Why is it flat on one side? Is that to do with a faceplated tranny?

Nothing to do with the faceplated trans. Looks like the clutch was moving back and forth almost like normal wear. The fp trans is internal so it doesn't have anything to do with the splines like that. Normally twisting the splines doesnt look like that.

Joe says it is just normal clutch wear and his looks just like it. He said nothing to worry with unless they are twisted and I don't see that on the pics.

That is completely normal wear on the splines just like any metal on metal surface will wear . GM uses a 26 spline shaft versus the Fords that use a 10 spline shaft . The 26 spline shaft is less prone to twisting and has roughly twice the amount of surface area than the Ford units do from the factory . Its a good design ........
