Default ls7 clutch swap?

will it swap directly into a 2001ss without any slave or clutch master cylinder changes? and how much better is it than a ls6 upgrade in terms of hp holding capabilities? im wanting to leave arounds 4-5000rpm at the track w/dr also is a aluminum fw worth it for hp gains?

current mods
175shot

ex.
9in 4.10 gears
tuning done by myself hp tuners
80mm tb

Its a direct bolt on. I recommend you get a remote bleeder.
Your going to need an LS2 Flywheel. For Drag racing a light weight fly is not always a good thing. PLus a little more weight on the rotating assembly will make drivability on street much easier.

Check this thread on the aluminum flywheel and drag racing

I've posted this before but I'll post it here as well

FLYWHEEL WEIGHTS
Stock ls1 flywheel-24lbs
Slp billet ls1-16lbs
LS7-26.5 Lbs
Firdanza ls7-13lbs

CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL WEIGHT
Stock LS1 (2004 GTO) - 49lbs
Stock LS7 (2006 Z06) - 57lbs
Ls7 with aluminum-44lbs

There is no steel billet ls2 flywheel at this point that you can use with the ls7 so its stock steel or aluminum. Honestly with your 4.10 and sticky tires I think you will be fine with aluminum.

The ls6 is not an upgrade 01-02 m6 f-bodies recieved the ls6 clutch so it would be pointless to but that back in. The ls6 can barley handle lite bolt ons and the ls7 is cheaper than the ls6 so why even bother with the ls6.

The LS6 clutch is a POS, it is the same as a stock ls1 pretty much. For 400 get the LS7 with the flywheel, it is cheap and hold a good amount of torque.
