Tim Tosto (Tosto Racing, I believe is the screen name) on here has gone mid 9s rowing, I KNOW there are others as well. You could ask him, or just contact Six Speeds Inc. (one of our sponsors).

7.97 was a twin turbo Viper with a t56 transmission. That was over a year ago and was done by Under Ground Racing in NC.

No you dont want to drive a face plated trans on the street. Similar to nascar yes.

Faceplated transmissions shift awesome on the upshift but will not down shift for crap . If you wanting a strip only box , its not a bad way to go . I would also recommend leaving out the 5/6 assembly as well since you won't need it anyways . If you have even a small thought of running it on the street , do not go faceplated .

As for a 9 second T56 , the real weak link is the mainshaft when you start getting up in that range so most people upgrade to a 31 spline Viper mainshaft and have the tailhousing bored out to accept the larger bushing and seal .
