How to change a slave cylinder?

Question How to change a slave cylinder?

need to replace a slave cylinder in my buddys 02 SS how hard is it? any tips to help ease installation?

To swap the slave you have to pull the tranny because it slips over the input shaft.

For the master, just disconnect the pedal linkage and take off 2 bolts holding a U shaped bracket that's it. You may or may not need to remove the brake booster because it's right underneath it. It all depends on how much room you have to get to it. Or you can go from underneath, just depends what kind of headers you have.

The slave is easy (2 bolts and a fitting), its getting the tranny in and out thats hard, lol

You don't even have to drop the tranny, just need to slide it back far enough to get to the slave. Granted it is easier to drop the tranny. Just take your time and make sure you have LOTS of ratchet extensions and elbows to get to all of the bolts.
