Hey thunderdan I agree with you on taking care of it and still breaking stuff. I only have 28 on mine and broke lot more than you. The car still looks new, no leaks, but I do beat on it pretty bad. I've broke 5 trans, 5 clutches, 1 DS, and a TA. Just fix it and move on, run it the way you want as long as your the one paying for it. I am torn on putting a cage in mine this winter to go with the TT kit I just bought. Good luck.

Agreed ....... the only other time I have seen similiar damage like that was a customer that had a twisted yoke on the driveshaft . The yoke could not compress into the housing properly because of the twisted splines so when the pinion pulled it crowded the the driveshaft and BOOM out goes the lights .

damn this kinda scares me but i have a t56 rebuild stage 4b or 5b? whatever the best one was with mikronite finish...anyways all i hear from twin disk clutches unless you are just occassionally driving/racing they tend to break drivetrain parts due to the lack of slipping.

In a drivetrain usually the weakest link fails first . In most cases its the 10 bolt stock diff . You are correct about heavier duty clutches being harder on the rest of the drive train .

Your comment is very offensive. You have never seen my car. My wife would beg to differ about the car getting treated like ****.
Did you running slicks and did you have the stronger output shaft in it??

I have just over 36,000 miles on my 99 Z I bought new and I have went through 4 or 5 clutches, 4 or 5 carriers (I now have a 12 bolt). Obviously, that was a catastrophic failure but his clutch and rear problem is not unique to him.
My transmission just had it's first failure. 26 passes after installing the Textrallia Clutch and Moser 12 bolt with ET Streets. I am about to pull my transmission out this weekend and have it rebuilt. I am going to get the Spohn tunnel mounted torque arm or just buy the BMR relocation kit since I have their adjustable TA. Pinion angle is set at -2 as well. I only have about 450 miles on my new clutch, rear, and TA.
I have 390 rwhp / 385 rwtq.

I think what he ment was that you beat on the car like a Camaro is expected to be beat on. Don't take it personally. I personally think that for the miles on the car you have had a typical amount of drivetrain related problems.

What I didn't like about what that guy is I could tell he's one of those who think "I would never let that happen to my car!" As If I am doing something really stupid like going street racing past a church at noon on a Sunday. I don't ever kick a guy when he's down. And I will not put up with it being done to me.

That's a bummer. I think you're right about the pinion angle. From your description that pretty much has to be the cause OR that driveshaft off the 10sec a4 you mentioned.
Good luck on finding the cause
