need new clutch help please need to get a new clutch and know there are alot of brands out there such as Spec, Texatralia, Ram, Centerforce, Zoom, Exedy, McLeod, Hays, ETC.
what have you guys had really good luck with for a street and strip application. it will be going in my 02 SS M6 with heads,cam,nitrous.
are there any brands to specifically stay away from?

You read lots of horror stories about spec, but that may very well be because they are the #1 used clutch in high powered ls1's. The Tex products have hands down the best customer service (I use one), but a few people have had problems. Centerforce doesn't make anything reliable for over 450rwtq. Ram seems to have high pedal effort for the power they hold. Exedy makes a twin that holds gobs of power, but I read diffferent stories of streetability. When my friend finishes his latest build with a twin disc Zoom, that will be the only firsthand info I have on that brand. I have read mixed reviews about Mcleod's products, but no firsthand knowledge. I haven't seen or heard anything about Hays since old school sb1 motors.
