Default T 56 Output Bushing Installation Problem

Every time I try to install A new output bushing in my t-56 It collapeses in to the two grooves in the extension housing and my drive shaft won't slide in. Is there a way around this that anyone might know?

You are using a GM bushing and they are not the same . The last bushing I had to install I used a TH350 bushing but had to turn it down on the lathe to fit the housing . Its a major pain in the azz but Tremec only sells the bushing with the housing as far as I know of anyways .
