Default Leaking slave?

Ok I put a new engine in my car about 6 weeks ago. Last week I noticed a mushy pedal and the a few days later I noticed a leaking slave. The leak has got worse and my clutch wont disengage. So now I got a new slave and I am going to install it on Sunday. My question is,is there something I should be looking for that made slave start leaking? The slave and clutch only have about 4,000 miles so that seems early for the slave to go bad. I don't want to replace it and the new one goes bad.

I just had a similar thing happen. My slave has about 15k miles on it and the master has about 6k miles on it. The other day the clutch stopped disenguaging. There is still pedal pressure. The slave is not leaking, atleast no drips on the ground. Slave was an 01+

Probably clutch problem for you or a master cylinder problem.

I have heard that using synthetic breake fluid in the system can cause leaks in the slave.
