I have an m6 ls1 Firebird, i jus replaced all hydraulic,s got a nice cam coming in, and i realy dont wanna buy another clutch, so what is the technique to doing a burnout with a manual, and not roasting the clutch? ive heard of feathering it, but i mean i dont understand if someone could put this better itd save me a new clutch, thank you Ricky

Start by not wearing too wide of a shoe, which leaves me out already... Then give it gas, pop the clutch, and give it some brakes to hold you there... Kinda like a brake torque... only minues the torque... Or by a SLP line lock kit... hit the brakes, flip the switch, now only your front brakes are on, and pop the clutch... your burning out... Just feather your throttle as to not exceed first gear, or second.... whichever you start in for the burn out. Oh, and lastly... turn off the line lock before your run! : )

Ya just like he said, however a common mistake is to romp the brakes which will just cause the car to stall. I do all mine in second gear works much better.

its a feel thing, u have to know how much ur clutch can take before it slips and glazes. if u can get it so u "feel" a grab, then u should be good, once u get them going its not stress on the clutch as long as its holding on.

If you don't want to tear the rearend out of the car just slowly release the clutch to the point where it is just starting to grab then hit the gas and release the clutch fast

My clutch is wasted No 2nd gear burnouts no matter how hard I try. Only burnout I get in 2nd is the clutch disk going up in smoke.
