Flywheel shim between crank and flywheel? what is the depth measurement for flywheel?

Default Flywheel shim between crank and flywheel? what is the depth measurement for flywheel?

Hello everybody, does anybody know the depth of a stock LT1 flywheel? i purchaced a flywheel from autozone that was resurfaced and i dont know if i need to use a shim or not. it did not come with one. does anybody know the measurement of a new unsurfaced flywheel?

dont shim the flywheel. shim the slave cylinder if u need to shim anything.

I have done many L1 clutch jobs and never had to shim the flywheel. I actully think it is a good thing for the flywheel to move slightly forward because it provides better fork clearance for some aftermarket clutches. Shimming the external LT1 slave does nadda, it is self adjusting.

Exactly remember lt1 has a fork with external and ls1 has an internal slave.
