Hows the master cylinder?
Is it the McLoed Adjustable you have in there?
How's the pedal feel? Got the air out & it adjusted right?
I have seen/ heard/ had great luck with the clutches.
The master cylinders on the other hand have been known to be problematic.
Even out of the box.

I have the Mcleod twin disc and have no problem's! I don't understand the clearance issue. I just bolted mine together and installed it.Just double and triple check everything.Has to be pretty simple. And for the comment on the text clutch,it take's there triple to hold what our double will hold! JK!

i installed my McLeod straight out the box with stock hydraulics and it works GREAT! drives like stock, no noise, etc. I'd take the McLeod master out and put in a new stock one in with the drill mod and i bet all your problems will go away.

Default MCLeod twin disc release air gap is .025"

Sorry, dude you probably have some installation errors.
I have personally built new and re-built twin disc units and never had any problems with the release. You should be looking for at least .025" gap between the bottom disc and the flywheel at full release. The only times people usually have problems with release is with not having the correct spacers and washers below the floater disc. You should make sure your bottom disc is totally flat and properly oriented with the hub pointed in the right direction towards the trans. You should have three .510" thick floater stands on the flywheel with three .020" thick washers on top. Then you should have two .020"thick washers on all of the studs of your flywheel.
The only other problem could be in the release bearing engagement and extension into your pressure plate/clutch cover. Do you have the diaphram style or the three-finger borg and beck cover? Check your release bearing clearance. You should understand that you cannot use the stock throw out bearing because it does not have enough travel to release.
