Default Headache with my Bellhousings

Hello,

I dont know if this is the right forum or not.

Well I broke my original bell housing with my 99 Camaro. So I decided to get another one. So thinking that all LS1 motors and T-56 tranny's are the same, so why would the bell housings be different. So I purchased myself a bell housing off of a 2004 GTO.

So I bolt the new bell housing from the 04 GTO and my starter doesn't bolt up anymore. So what bell housings will work with my 99 camaro with my 99 starter.

Thank You
Tilly

I think that GTO bell mayalso be a little deeper. You need a '98-02 Fcar /T56 bell.

i cant get the bellhousing on the block with the starter bolted up. If I take the starter off of the block, the bell housing bolts right up, but I cant bolt up the starter.
