Default Resurfaced flywheel (.035") + SPEC Stg3

I took my flywheel down today and had the machine shop resurface my original flywheel. He had to take about .035" off of it. I also ordered my Gen2 SPEC Stage 3 Carbon clutch/PP today without flywheel. I will be running stock '01 hydraulics with 15k miles on them. I am putting down 375-390rwhp N/A and have a 75 shot on the car, and eventually a 150shot after i upgrade the fuel system a bit.

Will I be fine or should I pick up another new flywheel for this?

TIA.

I would contact SPEC about this. They do supply a shim with some of their clutches. My machine shop takes .015 for a resurface and I run no shim, SPEC stage 4, new slave, mcleoad adjustable master.

Justin I heard the Stage 4 was weaker than a Stage 3 SPEC, is that true or just a rumor? I wanted a stage 4 but people tell me it isnt streetable...what experience do you have with it? Does it leave any play at all to leave smoothly from a red light for example? How much power are they rated at? I was thinking of going with a ceramic one for durability. thanks

here's what I got back from Star. Guess i'll be picking up a new flywheel.

Anything past that number and you're asking for warpage issues, imbalance and lack of hydraulic throw, which will not allow the clutch to release properly. I wouldn't chance it- it would cost you labor all over again.

I like the ceramic disk so far, it is much easier to drive in traffic then my iron disk was. The pedal pressure is a little stiffer then stock but not much. I like it a lot, then engaugement is linear and predictable. A local guy, "95 Formula", has put his SPEC stage 4 through hell and back in his 400+rwhp, 1.5 60' cutting formula and his clutch has held up fine.

It is streetable in my opinion but I have a high tolerance for that kind of stuff.

definitely stronger than the 3, especially if you go for the no springs disk and actually, i think it is MORE streetable than my old stage 3.. less chatter.
