Default LS7 Clutch

Im looking to put an LS7 clutch in my ls1, but didnt know if i could just bolt up a gm stock ls7 clutch. I was going to do both the flywheel and clutch, ive heard about this before but wasnt sure if it was a kit from an aftermarket company or what.
Pleas help

got mine from Scoggin Dickey, they are a sponsor here, great prices, if you get a ls7 clutch kit from scoggin it comes with everything you need, however might aswell get a new roller pilot bearing, slave cylinder also, i installed mine, and i absolutely love it, takes like 300-500 miles to break in, but shes a beauty

the ls7 is a bolt right up mod, i mean its not easy.. however you do need an ls2 flywheel, the ls7 will not work, the ls2 comes in the kit from sdpc

Mine is surviving with 513 rwtq. Over 4,000 miles on the set-up now and the clutch was on the car since springtime with no slip issues or anything. Drives great. Still DD'ing it until the weather turns nasty. When the salt hits the road the car goes away.

And yes you NEED the LS2 flywheel. The LS1 flywheel has a smaller contact area and will not work with the LS7 clutch. The LS2/LS7 has a larger contact area hence the higher power holding ability.

just installed this clutch as well, when you first install it it engages very low...but it feels great.
