Viper T-56 in f-body???

Default Viper T-56 in f-body???

Like the title says is it possible ive heard about people doing it.Is it a easy swap or you have to do some mods to it?Okay if possible what are the advantages?

hmm not sure why you'd want this. but if you want a stronger tranny just send it to sixspeed inc (sponsor) and get them to build you one with viper spec internals.

i dont think they take the actual tranny out of a viper they just put the internals in your tranny

That is correct , you are going to use an F body trans with Viper internals . The hard part is getting the Viper main shaft to work in the trans . Once thats done , the installation process is the same as a stock unit other than you will need a larger drive shaft yoke to fit the larger mainshaft .

I have a Viper T56 that had the Input shaft covnerted to a F-body. They had not converted the trans to bell housing adapter.. so I had to mod a Clutch T/O bearing to fit the bolt pattern of the Viper adapter plate. Used the F-Body bellhousing. And I used a yoke from a Dodge Van that had the larger and correct spline for the output shaft. Other than that.. no problems in fitting it to the LSx engine.

I used it cause I am using a bench seat in my A-body and the forward location of the shifter worked out better.
