Default Cadillac T56 Questions..

I am looking at using a T56 out of the CTS-V and was wondering if someone could tell me if the over all size (lenght/width etc.. ) is the same as the T56 out of a F-Body. Also if the shifter is in the same position. Also what would be a good final gear. I searched and it appears this has the same ratios as the GTO tranny. The car is going to be a HPDE car, and I am an intermediate driver so I am looking for a good all around gear. I was thinking a 3.15 any opinions/recommendations would be very helpful. Thanks

The shifter setup , the tailshaft and mainshafts are different from the GTO or F body .

Is it as strong or is it weaker since they might of figured not as many people would be beating on a CTS-V as a GTO or F-body?
