Default Locking the crank

I'm trying to figure out how to Lock the crank so that I can remove the crank bolt. How do you manual 6 people do it for the LS1s?

Is it just like the A4?

thanks

Not sure if there is a "right" way to do it. But an impact wrench will work

I think mine only goes to like 190 ft/lbs

Umm.. I'm thinking you do it like an auto where you remove the starter and stick a screwdriver into the bellhousing to lock it up. (I've bent a thick screwdriver like that lol)

Putting it in gear with the ebrake yanked up wont hold it??? Ive never removed on one an LS1, but thats how Ive always done it. I usually use an impact too.

Only time Ive needed to "lock" the crank was when removing fly wheel bolts.

Put it in gear and pull the e-brake.
