details there is no fuid in the system and the line from the master to the slave is not connected.

but i woud think the pedal would go in and out regaurdless atleast the other master i have does.

is it because i dont have the slave connected??
i would like to know whats up before i get any further with my engine swap cause its gonna be hell to pull stuff out to swap in another slave

I know if you have fluid (and no air) in the system, you cannot depress the master cylinder when the line is not connected to the slave.

with the line disconnected, there is no way for fluid or air to escape when you push the pedal (which would make it stiff).

I bet if you poke the little black thing on the fitting that connections from the master to the slave, fluid will come out.
