You need to do the drill mod for sure and you should get an adjustable master as well. Which one is debatable. I didn't have any luck with the Mcleod. Honestly I think it sucks. Maybe I just got a bad one. I put the stock adjustable that came with my Cartek clutch back in and it is working much better. Sorry I can't say one or the other but it seems that everyone has different experiences with each setup. Good luck.

Default Clutch Pedal Stays On Floor - HELP!!

I'm pretty sure this is the 'drill mod' that I'm going to need . . . I have the Star Stage III carbon clutch, but stock master cylinder. I've downloaded the instructions on the mod, but want to know if I absolutely need the adjustable master cylinder, and what brand. The instructions refer to the McLeod master . . . how much are these, where's the best place to get it?

And oh yea, this is at high-rpm shifts at the track with about 8psi . . . normal driving it's fine!

Thanks all!

Thanks guys! I also saw this on Thunder's site:

"GM 2001 LS1 Clutch Slave Cylinder (recommended for 1998-2000 models)"

Did you guys upgrade the slave too? The instructions I saw for the drill mod didn't say anything about the slave . . .

99% of the time I only hear this problem with SPEC clutches It is possible the pressure plate is being over thrown, there for vacuum is holding the clutch out at high RPM's.

SPEC clutches are designed to work with the factory hydraulics. My guess is your slave cylinder is going. Get a new slave and slap her in. Do the drill mod at the same time. I don't think anything is wrong with your master. On my old clutch it would stick the floor everytime I would jump on it, after the new spec clutch and new revised GM slave cylinder its great.
