Default Tranny Grinding

Before I put my car away for the winter I was starting to have issues with it not being able to shift into 2nd. Under normal driving conditions it shifts just fine, but under hard acceleration at high rpms it would grind on the 1-2 shift and wouldn't go in. I know i need a new clutch with 56,000 miles on my stock one. It has a soft pedal, sometimes sticks, and slipped bad on the dyno on a 4th gear pull. The only way i could get it to drop into second good is if i would do a fast double clutch. My question is would a new clutch (car is put away for the winter, getting an LS7 clutch in April) fix the problem or could it be a problem with my tranny. Thanks in advance for the help

I have the same question and was going to make a post. Mine when you are in it it won't let you into 3rd or 4th.

So it might very well not be the tranny? Right now you can go through all the gears like normal when the car is turned off. When you are driving it though it is another story

It could be the hydraulics since you mentiond sticking pedal. It could also be the blockers are worn in the tranny and at the higher RPMs cause grinding issues. I would start with new clutch fluid and bleed the slave.

I guess I will be finding out very soon like within a couple weeks. We are going to install a S60, driveshaft, and etc. I hope to have enoug money saved for the clutch and I will install it and whatever else is needed and see how the tranny does. If it needs to be replaced then I will, but I will also force me to break the clutch in. If I put the clutch in and the new hydros and the problems are fixed I will wait on the tranny.

If the blocker rings were bad would it shift fine at low rpms?
