Default what a jackass

so were at my buddys last night and we are all wasted
there was a few girls there so he decides he wants to show off his car.

hes in the middle of a clutch swap and has his trans off the car

he thinks its a good idea to try to start it

i gave him fair warning and then he still wanted to do it, so i just sat back and watched.

he yells "hey my clutch wont go to the floor!!"
so he puts some force behind it

i hear a little bang, now the clutch is stuck on the floor

what did he break??

Any fluid come out? Can you grab the pedal and pull it back up? Your buddy a big guy that can squat a 1000lbs?

I would have guessed it broke the master, but I would also have guessed that fluid would be everywhere. With the line disconnected from the slave cylinder, theres no where for the fluid to go when trying to push the pedal down. It closes off when disconnected.

He should have pressed the clutch switch by hand to start the car if he wanted to start it that badly, not actually pressed the pedal LOL

Take a look up under the dash and see if the MC rod is still hooked to pedal. If it is, and the rod is pushed in, and no fluid came out the line... Master cylinder would be my guess

Yeah he might have broken the little tab where the MC rod attaches to the pedal.

Either that, or blew an internal seal

if the clutch line was disconnected from the slave cylinder I assume you broke the line's seal or something in the line, if not the piston seals in the master cylinder... its like 12,000psi+ of fluid pressure

Idiot is the first thing that comes to mind.

Second is more than likely he'll need a new master, unless he managed to rip the master through the firewall. I'd be guessing the fluid has to go somewhere at the least. If not an internal seal and the plunger just broke through it. Either way, it's his money to waste.

I just put a 90* bend in the pushrod under the dash when I did this. Good thing it was the old one I was taking out.
