best trans fluid for a '96 lt1 style T-56 what do you guys recommend, i found the german castrol and figure i may as well find the best trans oil for my 6 speed as well thanks !

Trans fluid is more like a preference.
I personally use Pennzoil Synchromesh which is wicked and also there is Mobil 1 ATF.
If there is any fluid to avoid, it would be Royal Purple, not recommended by one of the best t-56 rebuilders in the country, SixSpeedsInc.
