Default mikronited gears

My brother bought a tranny from T56 rebuilds. It started shifting badly, so we pulled it out and had it looked at. The tranny is supposed to have Mikronited gears. To the tranny guy, it doesn't look like it. Is there a way to tell? I would think they would be shiny?

Thanks

They should be shiney. We have noticed over a time that the gear teeth will have wear but they should always stay shiney no matter what. Give me a call and shoot me the photos. If that is an issue with them I need to be aware of that IMMEDIATELY.

Thanks,
Amber

Here is a picture of a faceplated setup that was mikronited. They should stay shiney just like this except where the gear teeth make contact. They would not be as shiney.

Thanks,
Amber
