I was reading the sticky on the problem and some of the people seem against the drill mod why is that and how much that will make a diffrence the Master and slave are about 8 months old and my centerforce clutch is probly 10months old.

That is not that bad for a mostly stock car. I think I ran 13.20 or so with my car before I did put my cam in. I haven't been able to make it to the track since installing the cam.

What is your 60 ft. time? Probably around 2.20 or so right? Do you have some wheel hop? How are your tires?

That actually looks like a pretty good time to me assuming the mods in your sig are current. I don't see why anyone would be against the drill mod, unless they did it wrong and drilled through their line or it didn't make much of a difference. The fact is that there is a restriction in the line from the MC, and removing that restriction can only help whether you notice it or not.

Answering mrhrzk's questions would probably help too. I haven't been to the track but I can bang the gears pretty good. For the 2-3 shift I keep my palm diagonal and facing towards the passenger airbag, then I just push straight up, goes right to 3rd. I heard the Pro 5.0 is supposed to help even more with the 2-3 shift, are your springs still good and are your stops adjusted properly?

i think you just need to practice your 2-3 shiftmore. I feel that i have more trouble with my 1-2 shift... mainly because i never use first gear on the street because it just feels so short. I say get out there and practce it, because practice does really help out

so did you do the drill mod or not? if you didnt then it does not matter how old it is because its a problem stock and you should do it anyways. if it was your first time at the track then you had a decent time. lts are good for maybe 15 ls6 intake another 10-15. what kind of tires are you running? if you fucked up the 2-3 shift then your time is decent and i would not be worried.

Ohh the Drill mod can hurt when the drill bit breaks off most of the way down there and you cant get it out, I'm running nitto drags out back and I put an LS6 intake on it before I went. I was hopin for high 12s. My 60ft was in the 2.2 range

Sounds like you need to sort out the high RPM problem (if there is one) and just keep practicing. Just going off of your ET and trap, it sounds a bit slow, but we need to see all the numbers from the timeslip to see if there really is a problem or if your driving just sucks, haha.

I think when doing the drill mod a lot of people get very impatient when drilling the restriction. This is why drill bits break. The restriction isn't made of diamond or anything. It's a simple metal ring that like anything, should be done in stages. Drill a little, clean the bit, drill again. Always keep the bit lubricated use some brake fluid to help. There's also the need for a vice while drilling as well to keep it straight. Let the drill do the work, only apply force when the feel of the bit demands it.

As for the drill mod. It really helps with the later high rpm shifting. If the 2-3 shift is like a wall, then the fluid is getting boiled in the hydraulic line. Insulate the line from the headers along with the drill mod will make high rpm shifting much easier.

As for technique, you need to work on that first. It's not about using your whole arm. It's about the position of your hand and the applied force. I had no problems using the stock shifter + stock stick when shifting. It pales in comparison to my current setup, but it never stopped me from getting a gear I wanted. You'll need to practice shifting positions while driving casually at low rpm. Make a mistake at high rpm and you will find broken pieces along the drivetrain and engine.

I also bought spark plug boot covers and metal tape to wrap the line in before I put it in.
