okay this was quite a while back on z28.com but a mechanic over there, his name was Rob aka Poltergeist SWORE that the Borg-Warner/Tremec T56's LOVED Honda ATF, I've used that ever since and after 100-150 miles sucker shifted real slick and I LOVED it.
Right now I got RP in it and it's not good, hard to shift in higher RPM's so I'm going to switch back to Honda ATF

Here's an update for my experience with other fluids, since I believe this is a very important thread. I just replaced my old dexron iii and put Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF into my T56 because I couldn't find dexron iii or synchromesh anywhere, and now it grinds in every gear when you shift hard. Of course this might be being caused by the fact that it is currently winter or the fluid might not be broken in? (Doesn't make sense, but I'm trying to find a reason why it's causing grinding). In anycase, I'm going to stay away from Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF from now on.

OK so per Tremec we should be using Dexron III... However when I went to OReily to get some fluid, it was branded as Automatic Transmission Fluid... Is this correct?!?!
This is what they had, and it states AUto on the bottle.. Is this ok?

Last thing I want to do is to put the wrong fluid in

I would stop at 3.75 liters or so.

So I see a castrol dex-merc and cal online dex-merc.... But there's also AC delco 88861800
I live in New England so cold weather is a possibility so I'm hesitant to use synthetic
