Drag Racing the M6
Drag Racing the M6 I was wondering the best form or practice was the best to cut low 60 foot times. I heard some tack the clutch and roll out of it, the I have heard people just get at 3-4k and drop the clutch while flooring the gas. What is the best to you seasoned vets?

If you have the 10 bolt, proceed with dumping the clutch but keeping the rpm below 4k and modulating the throttle.
4k clutch dump + sticky tires + hammering it will usually kill a 10 bolt.
If you are running anything better like a 9inch or 12 bolt, get the stickiest tires you can find, drag radials, slicks etc, bring up the rpm to 4k or higher if you know your drivetrain can handle it and dump away. Requires a damn good clutch, probably a built transmission, good driveshaft, torque arm off the tailshaft of the transmission, and minimum 12 bolt coupled with all the necessary suspension mods.

I have no clue what your set up is.
But 4.10's gear at a minimum.

A decent clutch thats had the fluid flushed, the line wrapped
A decent Driveshaft
A Good rears (8.8, 9", 12 bolt....)
Let it fly off the limiter.
Powershift if you dare.

All this talk about clutch dumps is making my 10 bolt cringe! It's best to find out what you and your car can handle by practice at the track. Try both and see what works for you. With the stock 10 you should slip the clutch as a clutch dump is eventually going to make it take a dump.
