Love my 3+. If you can drive it without major slippage it will be fine. A lot of people overslip strong clutches and thats what kills them.

You'd have to overslip the CRAP out of it to kill it in 4K miles.

finall pics.....

flywheel showing the ring from clutch disk

this pic actually shows where the clutch disk cut into the flywheel (notice the sharp outer line of the circular clutch disk "imprint"

ones side of clutch disk

other side

and zoomed in a little to show clutch disk still had good lie on it

hope this helps...

if it were me to decide id say the actual clutch disk was so good that it destroyed the billet flywheel which wasn't as good i guess?

The disc looks like it is in pretty good shape...and the flywheel looks like it has consistent wear...though I do see what you are referencing on the inner edge. That being the case I am interested in getting the unit back in for a more thorough check-up. There is nothing that evidences major slippage but I know that is what you said you experienced. Give me a call and I will issue an RMA# for you. Thanks!

i'll have my break in mileage(500) on my 3+ done today and i plan on beating on my car like it owes me money. i had great success with my spec 2+ (40k miles of daily driving, street racing and occassional track use)and that's why i went with spec again. i'll update this thread if anything goes south. so far so good on the break in but i've yet to see if it holds in upper rpms.

and my car does get driven everyday so unless i find that perfect rpm to dump it on normal driving, this thing is gonna get slipped some.

I bet you had the shim installed didn't you?
I have always had slip issues with specs at around 5000 miles if the shim was installed

When I had my first spec clutch I didnt know there was a break in of 500 miles so at 50miles I was beating the **** out of it. That clutch lasted 22000 with many drag radial launches miles and wasnt slipping when I pulled it due to a t56 rebuild. If you wanna talk about peice of **** its a ram. I had a ram hd pos lasted 8000 miles with street tires then was slipping.
