anyone with a TR-6060? and some questions.
well i have a stage 4 t56 from sixspeedinc and its great. never any problems, i also have the drill mod and all new hydrolics.
but im just tired of the crapy shifts on fbody t56's. i DD my car and it sees only city miles.
now that being said has anyone tried using the TR-6060 in a fbody? i know its alot smoother shifts. feels almost like butter, compared to our t56's!

Well just as the older Vette units will not fit in a F body , neither will the later ones . Those cars are a mid trans design and use a torque tube between the engine and transmission .

Tremec isn't offering a 6060 that will bolt in to your application. I haven't seen anything about shifter positioning on the G8, but aftermarket units for F-body cars are at least a year off.

i like the slightly notchy feel of the t56, it feels a lot better to me because i know right when i get it in gear i guess you could say
i hate driving cars that shift like butter, i remember driving one of my roommates honda accord and i couldn't stand how that thing shifted it felt to flimsy because it shifted like butter
i tend to like that little bit of extra resistance right before the t56 goes into gear

Definitely a good read. I'm curious to see what some of the transmission sponsors have to say.
Other than the occasional dead peddle that I get after repeated 6800 shifts, I love my 6speedsinc rebuilt trans. I've got a Kirban shifter and it feels great. I plan on rebuilding my Mcleod master cylinder once I get the wilwood rebuild kit which should eliminate my dead peddle issues.

Those updates in that link refer to all the triple-double stuff found in the Vette, GTO, etc... though all the new rebuilds get the carbon fiber friction material as well, which should help make shifting smoother.

Shifter position on the G8 is the same as the Holden VE-series Commodore. The shifter in these cars is not like the traditional "bolt to the top of the transmission" type" that is familiar to the F-Body crowd. Uses a setup similar to that of the 04-07 CTS-V.

Ahh... that's no suprise. The GTO shifter was way in the backseat as well.
Thanks for the info though!
