Question tranny problems

its hard to to put the tranny in 1st or 2nd gear when going slow and getting it into reverse is hell (it takes two hands which sucks) it goes in fine when im driving but reverse doesn't. im bruising my hand driving in traffic does any one have any ideas? oh and the guy i bought the car from had t56rebuilds/sixspeedsinc rebuild it and it has a textrailia clutch in it with an adjustable master cylinder. i dont think i could keep driving it if it is like this please help

Sounds like a clutch adjustment issue .

also when i barely put my foot on the clutch you can feel a pulsing i dont know if this is normal or not

Thats probably the slave cylinder throw out bearing running on the fingers of the pressure plate . I am not an expert on the GM hydraulics but have messed with a few of them in the past . In my experience , the adjustable master cylinders have to be pretty much right on the money . If they are not you will either get too much throw causing the clutch to slip or not enough causing the clutch to not work .

thanks i guess that might be why your name is thesource. Does anybody know how to adjust the master cylinder or could you point me to a thread on it

I'm not sure if there is a link or not . Basically , I try to adjust it just to the point where it will allow the trans to be shifted in reverse without any issues but no more than that .

As the clutch disc wears , the master needs adjustment .
