I'll take my M6 over that A4 anyday, even if I had a slower ET AND trap speed.

So long as we're in the MAN-ual section, and talking about cars that we can actually go race tonight, for that matter, I still have the faster AND quicker car until you prove otherwise. My original statement about you being the "slow friend" is still 100% accurate.

We will see about that.

Like I said, you know it's an expensive product you purchased when it shows up in a crate with the company's name burned into the wood.... It goes in today at 2:00.

Hi PewterScreaminMach,

Do you have an idea of how much cost a wood box like this one purchase under industrial quantities???

Hi sidewayz28,

I was referring to the comment of PewterScreaminMach in his post #23, and wanted to pinpoint that any quality statement on a product versus its packaging doesn't make any sense, specialy if it is a $15 wood box...

Marketing is just one side of the industry.

Hope you catch it now.

A $15 wooden box is better quality than a $0.50 cardboard box that everything else comes in.

And for the record, Slowhawk, I was the original RedScreaminMachine when I started on fbody.com years ago. These two just have no imagination and had to steal the name. I changed mine for this site so people didn't think I was part of their *** smacking little club

Haha, what????!!!! Are you serious??? It was a joke....

That said, ScreaminRedZ makes a good point in the quote below...and I would rather have my $1,000 clutch show up in a $15 wooden box that's going to protect it from the gentle hands of the SHIPPING industry folks than a $0.50 cardboard box that's going to get tossed and knocked around.

And if you really want to get into it, which I find ridiculous but amusing at the same time, $15 divided by $975 for the clutch = 1.54% of the cost of the clutch in the box. Your $0.50 box divided by even a $400 Spec 2 clutch = 0.13% of the cost of the clutch. Based on those percentages, I would say I went with a company that's not willing to scrimp around the edges just to save a few bucks on the very expensive product that is going into my car.

And if they're so cheap, as you say, and they obviously provide much better protection for the product, AND they're such a good marketing tool, why aren't all of the companies using them? I'll tell you why, because they are trying to save money everywhere they can and contrary to your statement, the difference in cost between a $0.50 cardboard box and a $15 wooden box is huge when you're shipping thousands of items.

Hi PewterScreamiMach,

I am serious, and occasionally spending serious money on modifying my car...and still learning to identify the serious persons with the serious products!!!

Thank you to reinforce my point through your comments, the packaging and advertising is what is making the quality of some LS aftermarket products, specially those sold using the internet tool...

SO, Back to the clutch. I'm thinking of getting one but I'm still not clear on which I want the z or the x but I'm pretty sure I want a TEX. So how do you like it?

The clutch feels great but I've only driven it a couple times since the install (rain and work). I will be posting a FULL review this weekend after I've had some seat time with the clutch. Look for it around Friday night to Saturday if we get good weather.

I think miami was just trying to show his vast mental superiority over us by talking about nonsense that no one give a crap about
