Default CLutch Install problems.

FInally after 8 hours of trying to align the tranny up we finally got it aligned up. We bled my hydralics and bled and bled. Started the car and it wont even go into gear adjusted the master cylinder out, and nothing. Still wont go into gear. This is ******* pissing me off, also dropped a damn socket into the bellhousing so that has to come back off. What the hell am I doing wrong? I mean I can't even force the shifter into gear with the clutch in and the car on but when the car is off it goes into gear fine. I ******* can not stand this anymore.

Just put in new Ram 402pp, Ram 980 disk, resurfaced flywheel, 1 year old ram adjustable master, and about 1 year old updated slave cylinder with drill mod.

Let me guess you have the RAM VDS system. Man I'm in the same boat. I took my tranny out 4 times. and I still dont have my clutch in. The PP broke so I have to send it to ram and have it rebuilt. So you problem would be you dont have enough shims in between the PP and flywheel. Try 5-7 shims, try 7 first and go from there. That should fix your problem.

I bought the disk and pressure plate from summit, the 980 disk requires shims with stock flywheel? What kind of shims?

No shims needed if you bought the plate and disc separate. Do a search for Joe Kizzire's bleeding method - seems to be the best.

I found you have to reverse bleed the Master to get the best results. There is a way to do it in the car.E-mail me and I'll give you a full explanation.. Slowhawk@attbi.com

When I look at the listing for the 310 disk that some people use it says 11" Diameter 1 5/32 x 26 spline, the listing for the 980 doesnt say anything, but I am assuming that it is the same and should fit fine?
