So I drove the car today (2000 WS6 m6) and it hasnt been driven in a few days. So when I go to pull out of my neighborhood as the clutch is engaging at the top of the pedal I hear and feel this thud. Its not bad but it is there. It only does it when I engage into 1st from a dead stop. I layed into first real hard and everything was fine. Now, if I really really baby the clutch it sometimes wont make the thud. I dont know what to make of this. It doesnt do it in any other gear. If anyone knows anything I would appreciate it. Its something every week with this car...

it may be either tranny mount, but my car also if i just put it into 1st gear sometimes i hear like this slight knock! i think there may be a little play in my differnsials gearsm if your in 5th gear driving normal and you give it a little throttle and you see the shifter move up and down as your giving gas then its the tranny mount!

I agree. Its very possable its the t-arm mount. When I did the T56 conversion on my 94 B4C i forgot to put the top bolt in my t-arm mount and just closed the clam shell around the end of the t-arm.... All Ive got to say is WOW! Ive never seen my phone fly so high and into the rear hatch compartment when I dumped the clutch. It didnt "thud" it SLAMMED. Dented the floor and wedged the t-arm up above the trans. What a pain in the rear. Needless to say I never made that mistake again.

Your transmission mount could be cracked too. I replaced on for a friend that was only halfway broken and it would still bump the floor. Check all your bolts and the t-arm mount. Good luck.
