Yup...Its gotta to be the pressure plate. I just put a new master in and still the same problem. I think I'm gonna go and buy a real clutch and junk the LS7 POS

So ordered a Spec 3+ along with a Fidanza Alumium flywheel. I looking forward to this new clutch setup since its much lighter than the LS2/7 combo. How much does the LS7 clutch kit weigh compared to a Spec 3+ with a 12.5lb alumium flywheel?

The LS7 clutch, pp, and flywheel are 58lbs and the spec3+ and Fidanza are around 39lbs. Almost 20lbs of rotational mass

i have the EXACT problem..i changed the master cylinder and the line. Once i bleed the fluid, its perfect and then randomly starts acting up. Im going to change the slave and if it still continues..guess ill change the pressure plate.

I don't think you'd have to pull it, just pop out the quick disconnect and do it from the bottom, the parts that are exposed to heat are accessible from there

This is the first thread ive ever heard of people having a LS7 clutch problem. Considering the issue with it i hope it is isolated.

Keep searching, you'll find I'm not the only one. Infact, read post #14.

Do a search, I've had this same problem for quite some time. I bled everything, replaced all the hydraulics (even though I was replacing brand new components with MORE brand new components) etc. etc. Not only that but if you search on the boards some of the early C6Z's were having PP problems just like this. Seems it was a problem with the early run of the LS7 clutch/PP's.

I'm now giving SPEC another chance as my last SPEC 3+ only lasted me 6k miles or so BUT I attributed that to using a re-surfaced stock flywheel.

Hopefully its different this time around with a SPEC flywheel and SPEC 3

Barney, good luck bro!

Well this sucks about the LS7 clutch having problems. It would be nice if SDPC would give any info into the problem.

I have read a lot of threads about people that hate their SPEC clutches so I don't know. It seems like a hit or miss thing with clutches of any brand.
