hope you bought reusable gaskets...

interested to "hear" videos of the shifters in action on the same car.

I've had both the B&M as well as the pro 5.0, and IMHO the B&M is a shitty shifter in comparison. It just feels so sloppy.

eh????????

Typically for shifters you just use RTV. I used the Permatex Ultra Black and it seems to work great.

never seen a car with one yet, ive heard there is gasket to reduce noise, but never had a problem with noise so no need to look for one for me.

the point was if he's going to be testing multiple shifters, it'll be a pain in the *** to keep removing and adding RTV...

http://stangshiftergaskets.com/

he makes gaskets for our shifters, makes sense to get a set of these if he's going to bother testing all those.

It's just one of those things that make you say, why didn't GM make a reusable gasket...

Because manufacturers don't build cars with the intention of the customer pulling parts off of it and replacing them, especially on a regular basis.

Not to mention it's cheaper for them.

I had the factory GM non-hurst shifter and switched to a Pro 5.0 about 2 weeks ago. Its a 1000% improvement. I don't have to sit in the passenger seat and use a hammer to get it in reverse when cold now. The noise doesn't bother me, it just reminds me that I'm driving a real car.

Everything else on the LS1 is reusable, it's a one of those falling short of the finish line kind of deal for GM... ok a lot short...they reused the damn 10 bolt...

I like the B&M, especially when strapped in with a 5 point harness vs. the Pro 5.0, easier to reach. And mine is not sloppy at all.

Yeah with the stock shifter (not a hurst) I had to lean over into the passenger seat to get it over to the reverse gate, then I had to apply pressure and start to slip the clutch to get it in. Now, reverse clicks right into place. I haven't got my stops adjusted the way I want them yet though.

That is my suggestion to people complaining about the Pro 5.0 noise. Adjust the stops all the way out and it will stop clicking. When you go to the track adjust them back in. I don't need stops for daily driving.
