Default Need help! What happened?

I was at the track last nite and on my second run I tried to shift into 4th...and would not. Coasted to the return road and would not go into any gear, but finally got it in second. With the clutch disengaged, I could still feel some pull. I noticed my engagement point had moved down close to the floor. I let her sit about an hour and tried it again....it would go into all gears but could still feel some pull with the clutch disengaged. I decide to bag it and watch for once...and when I leave the sumbiotch is now working fine and did even after some spirited driving. The engagement point came back up and shifts as before.
I have a Mcleod Kevlar single disk and have learned to not slip it at all and especially when launching....I slipped it when I first put it in, which "glazed" it and eventually it "fixed" itself with normal driving.
Sorry for the long post...but maybe somebody can enlighten me as to what I am dealing with.
Thanks.

Welp...went out for a cruise tonite and shifts fine.... Maybe the clutch "welded" to the fw and popped loose after cool down....It was not that hot out and I was only on my 2nd run.... I guess I slipped it and did not realize it. This should not happen I was only launching at 4500 rpm. Sure wish I went with the twin disc....like everything I do with this car...it is subject to change.
Thanks for all the input on this....

You mentioned your clutch release point moved closer to the floor -- that would seem to indicate our infamous hydraulic problems.. If the clutch was dragging, you won't be able to get it into gear with the motor running (with normal force, anyway).

Mark @ RMS also said it was hydraulics....no "hot" lapping I guess.

Do you have an adjustable master and updated slave? Some guys had issues with the clutch hydraulic fluid getting over heated and thinning out, something about a fluid line needing a bit of relocation...maybe something to look into?

I have the Mcleod adj. MC and updated slave. I did relocate the MC lines away from the headers and insulated w/ fuel hose. I think it is internal heat from the kevlar when I slipped it. Driving awesome again....
