I was wondering if any body offers a rebuild kit for these trannys. One that would come with some instructions to follow for it?

Is there a place that provides an install instructions? Or do you have to know what you are doing to rebuild these things?

i just posted this over on cz28.com. some good info over there in the advanced tech also. generally, these arent all that difficult to do. i've got a few pics up on yahoo of mine, but it's basically replacing, and inspecting the wear items, and addressing your trouble spots you feel when shifing. you will need a 15mm socket, the 5-6 gear puller as well as a good set of snap ring pliers and a torx 40 socket. other than that, some ultra-black sealant and you're all set, unless you have to press off the timkien bearings way down in the 1-2 part of the mainshaft. (what eric was talking about. but you shouldnt have to if it's in fairly decent shape IMO.)

as far as parts go, D&D is a good source, but if you need them a little quicker than from there, a local GM dealership can overnight parts, as well as supply you with a printout of the t-56's guts. e-mail me later if you need either parts or a printout of the tranny, i've got acess to both.

here' s a few pics that might be helpful also.
