Quicktime bellhousing question...
#22
look at the mcleod, it has a starter hole on the driverside that doesnt even get used. Alot of water can get in there also. On the quicktime at least the starter covers up most of the hole, should be fine.

I got a fast reply from them.....but a fast reply, is not getting taken care of.
In fact, its pretty worthless when a product is wrong.

My QT was taller than stock. And if you used the motor plate with it too, it would be a LOT taller than stock. Some 1/8" or so.
All I got was a "thanks for telling us it doesnt fit, and the holes are threaded wrong"
Nice to see some others are getting some customer service though, even if I got sweet FA.

Aside from the problems I already mentioned. Mine did bolt up, and is working.
Due to the height difference, it was not possible to use the aluminium motor plate though.
When bolting the BH to the engine, it would also appear that the flange isnt flat. It does pull flat enough with the bolts though. So not a major issue.

Any chance you have a measurement of how tall that bellhousing is ?
I need to measure mine against the stock bellhousing. I really hope that motor plate isnt adding extra height over stock otherwise I'm gunna have to pull everything again.
Also, does yours have the same style opening for the slave cyl. hydro lines as stevieturbo? His arent big enough for the quick disconnect. Mine are big enough and are cut all the way back from the top plate back to the part of the bellhousing that starts to curve down.
It seems that 1BADAIR and Stevieturbo may have gotten the same older style bellhousing. Same motor plate anyway.
This really is amazing to me that a company would sell such a poorly designed product. It's pretty clear they've never tried to test fit any of their own products.

I have one of the newer QT bellhousings where the hydraulic line and bleeder openings are not reversed, and I set it on a flat surface with my stock bellhousing. Using a set of feeler gauges and simply eye-balling and feeling with my fingers, it appeared that the QT bellhousing is approximately .055" taller than the stocker.
I spoke with Ross at QT about some other issues (which you can read about here), and he said that they put in this extra space for aftermarket cranks because they tend to be longer causing the input shaft of the transmission to bottom out in the pilot bearing.
