CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP

CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP I have a 99 trans am m6, it's stock, I am going to upgrade the clutch, what all do I need? I saw a couple of clutch kits from mcloed but they're way to expensive! do I really need a pressure plate, throwout bearing , steel flywheel, adj master, and gm 01-02 slave? I was already going to buy an adj master and o2 slave, but do I really need a steel flywheel and pressure plate?
I dont know much about clutches and need one really bad. this car is going to be a bolt-on + cam car, and I will be getting a 12 bolt or 8.8 ford rear so i need a clutch that will hold up on 5k launches.
also which ram clutch is right for me, I only wanna stay with Ram because thats the only clutch I have seen hold 6k launches and still drive great on the street.

Re: CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP Go with a McLeod RevLok II set-up from Thunder Racing and have your old flywheel resurfaced. I have this set-up and it holds 5500rpm launches all day. Jason99TA went 10.5x with this exact set-up. If you need to save money just do it yourself, go to www.installuniversity.com and get the install info there. That's how I did it. Good Luck.

Re: CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP Usually when you order a clutch the clutch disk and the pressure plate come together. You can have your flywheel resurfaced if its not to bad (you wont know till its apart) but ive heard of people resurfacing them a little too much and their clutch wasnt engaging properly...slipped and burnt up the new one!!! So be careful who does it. I just replaced mine with a new one.

Re: CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP well I have 25,000 miles on my car, would I be able to just re-use the flywheel because my buddy is gonna install it and I know for a fact that he cant re-surface it.
oh and by the way how long should I expect the clutch to last for, the car will be going to the track maybe once a month maybe twice, and is daily driven 80 to 100 miles a week maybe a little less.

Re: CLUTCH SWAP!!! HELP As long as its not warped or has hot spots It should be fine but if it only has 25,000 on it and you need a new clutch, my guess is its shot too. You wont know for sure till its apart. You can't determine how long a clutch will last by milage, it all has to do with how you drive it.
