They blow man. I had ..... I wanna say.... 3.23's or 3.43's that was stock in my 97 and didn't like it. Went up to the 3.7's and even wish I went to 4.10's after.

That gearing may actually hurt the clutch, its going to bog or require alot of slipping to get her going on the street or the track

Not ideal for the track...it'll be a lot easier to move it off the line with a set of 4.10s.

You'll hate those gears behind a t56, it'll feel like a dog. I had the 3.23's for a little bit after my a4->m6 swap and even they were miserable......4.56's now.

I've had my 2.73's in the car since my swap about 2 years ago. You're right the gas mileage is NUTS which is why I haven't swapped them yet. I get about 23 city and 35+ highway with 400 horses at the wheels and a mail order tune. Sure I could get more if I tuned it right. But everyone is right, it's a dog. I haven't been to the track, but on the street she's pretty slow off the line. Once I hit 2500 RPM's it picks up but if you race much definately get lower gears. She still spins like crazy though with my firestone fuzions. Have spun up through 3rd gear, haven't tried any higher. tranny gears seem long as hell too, 1st goes up to about 50mph, probably go through the 1/4 mile traps in second lol. Definately not a good ratio for the track!!!

I kinda wish I would of went 3.73s instead of 4.10s. Mine howl like crazy. Definitely a funner ride than the stock 3.42s. Gas mileage is poo though. I get 15 to 16 around town, 25ish on the highway.

I'm keeping my 3:23s and putting in an MN12 tranny from a GTO. Should be a good compromise IMO.

um yeah, just went to the track for the first time since the car was bone stock with my M6 swap, 2.73 stock rearend. LOSE 'EM. I ran slower then the car did stock with 100 more horsepower. Couldn't hook at all in first lol. 13.7 was the fastest 1/4 @ 109mph my fastest 60' is 2.59 telling me I did not get off the line at all, but in higher gear she picked up a lot.

Geeze your lucky. I'd jump for joy if I got 15 to 16 mpg.
