Default Bad Clutch?

MY clutch is pretty burned from the previous owner and might start to slip soon. Was wondering if it can cause the car to kind of shake during idle. Rpms stay the same but randomly for like 3 seconds, it will feel as if i have a tiny earthquake under my ***. It will stop and can start again randomly when i stop again. I remember my old Trans am had a bad bad bad clutch and past 3k when reving in neutral, it would violently shake. Just wondering if this can be the problem. I have a bad cat that i think blew up so theres crap rattling around inside. Maybe it can be that?

Doubt it would be the clutch doing it randomely. If the clutch causes a vibration, it's going to happen all of the time. What you are experiencing sounds like a tuning issue, a miss, or something of that nature.

What do you mean when you say "earthquake"?? Is it a metal to metal sound, clanking, exhaust. You gotta be a little more specific my friend. Thats probably why you dont have too many responses. No prob though. Initially I immediately thought of the normal AC compressor kicking on which drops the idle and causes rattling or louder noise if you have a slight exhaust leak or something.

kinda sounds like moving metal touching up against non moving metal. It also sounds like my exhaust is doing it but ive had my exhaust like this for a while and once i changed the slave cylinder, it started doing it. But i had a shop do it and everything works perfectly so idk..

+1 if it was the clutch it would be all the time not just randomly, does the motor drop in rpm's at all when it does it?
