Exclamation Just installed spec3+ having hydraulic problem

OK so I just got a spec 3+ and installed it saturday, it grabs great!!!!!! But, at the very bottom(floor). I Bled the hell out of it, 3 different times, each time I did it, my buddy and I went through the process more times. we changed all the fluid out and kept doing it until it was clear(thanks ranger for that write up!) but its still doing it. Heres the other thing it did, I was at spring break nationals car show this weekend in daytona, (placed 5 in american) and I was reving the car but I had it in 1st gear and the clutch pedal to the floor, when I reved it low it was fine, when I reved it higher like 5 or 6k the clutch caught and the car jumped a bit. It scared the crap out of me because the pedal was to the floor, I only did it once. Thats my problem.
Im thinking its my slave, but im not sure. If anyone has any suggestions or input feel free to help.

Thanks Jeff, My Ws6

you had to take the shim out, but I thought the shim was a must for aftermarket clutchs.....

nope none of it, because they are worked fine that morning, It only takes me about an hour to do a clutch, so Its not a big deal to pull it again.

I'd say it's air in the lines. sounds like it isn't fully releasing to me.

Mine releases right at the floor. I was going to pull it and at more shims. I have lived with it far year.

Guys...pulling the shim will not help this. Here's why, the shim effectively adds height. By removing it you will effectively reduce the throw which will lead to less release. Leave the shim in place...I assume the pedal is releasing about mid-way through its travel...right?

As for hydraulics, just becuase they worked originally doesn't mean that they will continue to work with a new clutch. They may have been weakened over time. How does the car shift? If you pump the pedal do you notice any difference in engagement or release? Let me know and I will be happy to assist with further support. Thanks!

I put a new slave in it today, its still the same, I kept the shim in. The first half the pedal is mushy and does nothing, then it starts to grab, and engages on the floor. Is it time for an ajustable master??? Thanks Spec-01

to my knowledge, only the stock PP's are adjustable, (ls1, ls6, ls7's are all SELF adjusting)
