Converting an LT-1 T56 to work on an LS1

Default Converting an LT-1 T56 to work on an LS1

Ok as title says I have a 99 ls1 with T-56 My t-56 is bad 3rd gear is gone and 4th gear grinds I found a lt1 t56 for 800 with 60k on it. I am told I need to change input shaft front plate and bell housing. I have the bell housing, will my input shaft work out of my t-56 for the lt1 t56 and what about the front plate I need help fast Thanks, JOHN

You can use your LS1 input shaft and front plate. The problem you might have is that fourth gear is part of the input. If 4th is grinding, you might have worn out the gear and would need a new one.

Thanks Chucky and my ls1 bell housing will bolt on the lt1 t56 right.

also while everything is out of the car would you recommend goin with the 3-4 steel fork and new 3-4 slider and keys ?
