something you might want to check if you have an aftermarket shifter with stop bolts is the front stop bolt. when e toi worked on my clutch the vibrations loosened the stop bolt and it backed in toward the shifter, and i got locked out of the tops gears. This was with a Pro 5.0. Worth a check if you have stop bolts!

Sounds like it could be a problem inside the tranny?! 5th/6th & Rev are all contained in the tail section of the T56, while 1st-4th are in the main body of the tranny. I wonder if it's a problem with one of the shifter rails that operates those gears???

Ha if you have a pro 5.0 i'd recommend taking the 2 seconds to pop the center console out and check out that top stop bolt. Mine shifted fine, stopped the car, went to start it back up some time later, and no 1st or 3rd. Drove it around thinking something went bad with the clutch hydraulics or tranny, and the next time i stopped and started it, i didnt have 3rd, 5th, or reverse.
