The vibration of the tranny actually travels up an aftermarket shifter, which is what you hear, because of there not being that rubber piece to absorb it.
I rarely ever notice much of a difference with my Ripper & it's only at WOT when I do. But unless you know what to listen for, the average person will never hear it. This shouldn't deter anyone from changing out the stock unit though because the gains are definitely worth it! You'll feel more confidence & control in shifting the first time you ever take the car out.
I've never felt a Pro 5.0, but I've also ever heard anyone ever say anything bad about it & the Ripper is by far the best I've ever felt.
Basically, I don't think you can go wrong with either one that you choose.
