T56 Reassembly
Okay main case is all together, countershaft extension is in place.
When I'm sliding the reverse synchro and fork onto the mainshaft and 5-6/R "shift rail" respectively, I can't get the fork on the shift rail far enough to install the snap ring.
One of my first thoughts was to shift it into reverse to move the reverse section of the 5-6/R shift rail back, but when I do that, and get everything in place (synchro on mainshaft; fork on shift rail) I can't get it back out of reverse. When I remove the fork and synchro, I can get it out of reverse and back into neutral.
I think it has to do with the shift interlock up front keeping the shift pin on the main shift rail from going forward after it's in reverse. But I'm not sure whether rotating the reverse shift rail will help.
Help.

Re: T56 Reassembly
counter shaft extension was not fully forward. Fifth gear interfered with reverse syncro. just test drove the car, everything seems cool.
