I was having a problem getting it into 3rd, and last night, out of nowhere, I was making a turn, and trying to down shift and it froze up. It will not go into ANY gear. Can anyone provide info on this????

I had that happen to one of my T56's once. What happened is that some of the "dogs" that help guide the gears had fallen off into the bottom of the tranny. They are held on by a big C-clip, and that ring had broken. I had to drive to the shop 20 miles away in 2nd gear.

The tranny had to be rebuilt.

YEP SURE CAN. SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF TWO THINGS. BROKEN 3-4 SHIFT FORK OR BAD SYNCRO'S. BUT DEFINATELY ONE OF THOSE. I BROKE BOTH ON ONE TRIP DOWN THE TRACK WITH 12K MILES ON THE CAR. GM REBUILT THE TRANNY UNDER WARRANTY THANK GOD. MINE WOULDNT COME OUT OF 4TH. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME LIKE THAT AND DRIVE TO GM THE NEXT DAY IN 4TH GEAR. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TRANNY PROBLEM.
P.S. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SHIFT STOPS INSTALLED OF YOU HAVE AN AFTER MARKET SHIFTER!
