Default Tick Performance (A+ review)

OK, so everybody posts if they've had a bad time w/ a sponsor, but not everybody does when they've had a good experience, so I wanted to let people know that the folks at Tick Performance in Mooresville NC (a sponsor here) did a great job rebuilding my T56 (missing 2nd gear!) and my 4th 10 bolt ring an pinion.

They rec'd the car on a Tuesday and were done with it by lunch on Friday!

They did it quick and at a good price too - what else could anyone else want?

In other words, they rock!

I described my situation to Joe over the phone (no 2nd gear) and he told me exactly what was broken - he knew because he had just done the same thing to HIS F-body one week earlier!

They put in some Mikronited 3:73s in my 10 bolt (yeah, I know - "Building a 10 bolt is like throwing money at a dead hooker; no matter how much $$$ you spend, she just can't get the job done.") and I'll be installing my STS kit in early August - on the week between Norwalk and Woodward - and trying to see if infact these gears are the holy grail to us in the F body community.

If they can handle the shock load of a 6k rpm 1-2 shift with a Kevlar clutch and a Squires kit, I'll be a happy man!

If not - 9 inch here I come!

Dood...I wish you the best with that rear axle. I hope it works for you.

Good to hear some positive feeback on a sponsor

Thank you for the kind words guys! Mike, I'm very glad we met all of your expectations and I can't wait to see how that thing runs when you install the STS kit.

Joe -

I'm taking it to the local 1/8 mile track this evening (Piedmount) to see how those 3:73s react to my MT drag radials and a 2500 to 3500 RPM clutch dump!

My best 60 foot time (with the 4:10s) was 2.00 seconds - but it never really hooked; hopefully with the line locks I can preload the driveline a little and break into the 1.9X's!

I'll let you know...

BTW - Is your car (the one with the stripped 2nd gear) the one in your sig? (Sweet!)
